4The Forum discussed and noted the progress on the current in depth scrutiny projects:

(a) The Council's community leadership role in promoting safer communities (Policy & Resources Scrutiny Committee);
(b) Understanding erosion taking place on the Foreshore (Place Scrutiny Committee);
(c) How the Council assists and excites individuals and community groups to achieve healthier lifestyles (People Scrutiny Committee).
5The Forum discussed and noted the evaluation analysis of the recent "scrutiny in practice" development session that had taken place on 3rd March 2015 facilitated by Tim Young from the Centre for Public Scrutiny. The session had been reasonably well attended and that the feedback had been very positive.

The Forum was informed that the Essex Scrutiny Officers' Network was looking into the potential for a Member's development session in the summer. An in-house scrutiny training session would also be provided early in the new Municipal Year. The Forum felt that the in-house training session should take place in early July after the first cycle of meetings to enable new Members of the Council the opportunity to experience the decision making process.
6(a) Scrutiny and the Health & Wellbeing Board
The Forum discussed the relationship of health scrutiny at the People Scrutiny Committee and the role of the Health and Wellbeing Board (which is also a Committee of the Council). The Council's Scrutiny Officer agreed to undertake some research on this relationship in other local authorities.

(b) Call-in
The Forum discussed the deadline for calling in items from the Cabinet Digest. The Head of Legal and Democratic Services explained that the precise deadline for call-in would be printed on the front page of the Cabinet Digests in future.

(c) Attendance of Councillors at meetings
The Forum noted that a record of attendance would commence in the new Municipal Year.
